Here's a picture I took last weekend of our dirt road. The trees on the right belong to us. In years past I hated fall but now that Missouri winters are milder I embrace it.
My husband and I went mushroom hunting a few weeks ago and for the first time ever I out hunted him. I had never before been brave enough to eat fall mushrooms but I've been a fan of the spring morels for years. They're both pretty tasty but the fall mushrooms are much easier to find in abundance.
The persimmon seed held a spoon so I guess we'll be shoveling a lot of snow this winter. I'll believe it when I see it. I'd love to have about four feet of snow to play in for at least a week or two and a deep freeze to kill off all these pesky bugs.
I write a lot about the woods in my stories and I love writing with the seasons. Debris is a spring time story and my latest work Addie's Purpose begins in fall. They are both in the revision stage right now but I hope to have them professionally edited before spring comes. Perhaps I'll post an excerpt in the future.
